Introduction to Volleyblog

The theme that I have choosen is volleyball. I choose this because I am a coaching minor. As you can guess I would like to coach volleyball some day. I would like for this blog to be a resource for coaches. I would like to have different drills, the rules, some history, and maybe even some about what is happening in the volleyball world now.

I did find a few blogs so far that will be ones that I will try to follow.   Some of them were kept more up to date then others, so we will just see what happens with that.

The first blog that I found was The College Volleyball Coach.  This site was the one that was most kept up to date.  This blog seemed like it was mostly set up as a question and answer type of blog.  Sometimes it looked like the author just talked about whatever was on their mind in regards to coaching volleyball.  I didn't find many drills or rules, I think most of the information is about just being a coach and how to become a coach.  I selected this blog mostly because it seemed to be kept up to date.  It seems important, when following a blog, to read one that is kept up to date.  The posts on the page are all very long and wordy, which can get distracting that is for sure.  Like I said a little earlier, it is kind of a question and answer format.  They do have their blog set up with the different topics on the right side.  Most of the topics that are talked about are from questions from the readers.  But the questions are answered very well.

The next blog that I found wasn't really kept up to date as well, but it seemed to have a little more information in regards to rules and drills.  This one was called Spike it Hard.  The goal of the writer for this blog seems to be to just talk about volleyball, kind of whatever is going on in their volleyball life.  They also said something about talking about some other sports too, but not as much as volleyball.  I did like how they had their posts set up.  Instead of taking up a ton of space you could click on the article to read more about the topic.  We looked at one like this in class the other day.  It makes everything looked a little more organized.  I selected this blog because it looked like it had some good information on it.  I really like the fact that they have pictures, which would be helpful when describing what proper form or technique looks like.  I was still searching to see if they would have any video's about volleyball as well.  The format of the blogs are nice too, like I said they are really organized.  I think they say what needs to be said without just talking a bunch.  They mostly have different clubs or schedules for the teams they are supporting on the site as well.  In some of the posts there are different links to either download something or you can go to other posts or other parts of the blog.

These were the blogs that I have found so far.  They weren't really what I was looking for, mostly just talking about their volleyball lives and not really the sport.  I hope to talk about different rules, drills, find some video's, and have pictures.  This is what I have planned so far.  Which I should be able to find some different web sites that will be some excellent resources.

Thanks for listening.  There will be more to come.  :)
